Trail:
This easy wide trail runs between the Rossland Museum and the tunnel under the road near the Centennial Trailhead. Being mostly on an old railbed it runs at a very easy gradient (about 3%) and is therefore suitable for novice bike riders and all other activities. On one very short section (50m) you may have to push due to loose gravel. A popular dog walking route, part of the Loop Trail around Rossland and an important connector both in summer and winter. Don’t be surprised to meet others on this trail.
This trail was once part of the railways which served the Red Mountain mines area. A few lookout points give a nice perspective of Rossland and it is easy to picture that the bowl in which Rossland sits was once the base of a Jurassic era volcano (the reason for all the gold ore in the first place!).
